The idea of upgrading the Government Employment Exchanges into HRD centres was the brain child of DET, KVTSDC and TeamLease. Backed by TeamLease's experience and management, the new HRD centres are aimed at transforming the capabilities and focus of traditional employment exchanges in Karnataka, while expanding the target public groups serviced.
The new HRD centres will ensure sound focus on the employability aspect as well, along with employment. With the backing from Indian Institute of Job Training (IIJT), the new centres will ensure structured entry and exit gate assessments for the candidates, with relevant vocational training programs. While the training will help bridge skills gaps and make the candidates job ready, the accompanying certification will ensure their credibility in the job market.
Dr. Vishnukanth Chatpalli, Executive Director, KVTSDC said- "The Government of Karnataka is committed to ensuring access to livelihood opportunities for the youth of this state. We recognize that the lack of necessary job skills is the core issue affecting employability of our youth and the KVTSDC was created to address this issue. Given the scale of this issue and opportunities in the market, cooperation with and involvement of the private sector is a key requirement. We hope that the new HRD centres allotted will help improve the employability and employment potential of the youth of Karnataka."
"TeamLease is privileged to partner with KVTSDC and the Government of Karnataka to expand the HRD centres to five new cities following the success of our pilot projects in Mangalore and Bijapur. Leveraging the proprietary TeamLease Employment Framework (TNEF), which identifies over 15,000 Ideal Candidate Profiles in the industry and the capabilities of IIJT, we will be offering highly relevant assessment and training programs to complement our established placement services. This will dramatically alter the chances of success for the candidates. We see this as the way forward in the qualitative transformation of employment exchanges across Karnataka and India for the greater benefit of the working age youth", said Neeti Sharma, Vice President, TeamLease Services.
